Michael Harris, Ph.D., President of HEG, has over 28 years of experience as a consulting economist and expert witness. Prior to founding HEG, Dr. Harris held senior positions with a number of respected national economic consulting firms.

While Dr. Harris has a particularly strong background in energy, he has provided economic research, consulting, and expert testimony across a diverse set of industries including semi-conductors, containerboard, food products, and industrial gases. He has applied his expertise across an array of issues including class certification, class-damages, price fixing/manipulation, market power, anti-competitive conduct, pricing, asset valuation, trade secrets, competitive bidding, compensatory and punitive damages, and regulation including deregulation.

Dr. Harris has provided testimony in over fourteen United State District Courts, six State Courts, numerous Arbitration Panels, and over ten state and federal regulatory agencies across North America.

Dr. Harris received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado.

mark-dwyer_optimized_93 Mark Dwyer, Ph.D., is a Senior Economist with HEG. He has 20 years of combined teaching and work experience in the field of economics. He is an accomplished applied economist specializing in conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and assessing methods of data analysis, including experience with Bayesian time series analysis, forecasting and modeling techniques. Dr. Dwyer taught econometric methods to undergraduates and Ph.D. students for six years at University of California Los Angeles.

Dr. Dwyer has conducted economic analysis of anticompetitive allegations and intellectual property issues in many industries including software, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, crop seed, gasoline, natural gas, electronic payment systems, construction materials and financial markets. He has provided initial liability assessments to counsel and has served as an expert regarding the economic modeling of damages.

Dr. Dwyer received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester, a M.A. in Finance at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a second M.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester, and a B.A. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Jonas Sison is a Consultant with HEG. Mr. Sison has over 15 years of experience as a management consultant with an extensive background supporting clients in a broad range of industries with his strong quantitative and analytical skills.

 

Mr. Sison focuses on developing, analyzing and reverse engineering complex financial and economic models. His broad experience includes providing analysis and support in the energy, pharmaceutical, governmental, financial and media industries in the areas of M&A, privatization, benchmarking, asset valuation and litigation support.

 

Mr. Sison applies his experience in these industries to support HEG’s case work related to antitrust litigation, regulatory investigations, and consulting assignments.

Yan Wu is a Consultant with HEG.  Yan has a strong background in mathematics and statistics.  Her focus withing HEG is data management and model development.  She assists Dr. Dwyer in the research and development of HEG's econometric and statistical models.  She is also responsible for evaluating and critiquing the models and methods of opposing experts in HEG's cases.

Aaron Zhu is a consultant with HEG.  Aaron’s background is in mathematics and applied science.  His focus within HEG is data management and model development.He assists Dr. Dwyer in the research and development of HEG’s econometric and statistical models.
